News Views will continue to run a Live Blog on how the deadly Coronavirus has affected our leaders, their ability to lead, and our government as a whole. Feel free to post any credible updates and discuss with one another the latest developments.
Today’s latest COVIDIOTS include:
Stephen Miller, a top aide to President Donald Trump, has tested positive for coronavirus, he said Tuesday.”Over the last 5 days I have been working remotely and self-isolating, testing negative every day through yesterday. Today, I tested positive for COVID-19 and am in quarantine,” Miller said in a statement.
Just to recap on who in Trump’s orbit have tested positive:
- More than a dozen members of Trump’s circle have tested positive in recent days, including his wife, senior adviser, press secretary, campaign manager, former counselor, personal assistant, four press aides, three Republican senators and, over the weekend, a military aide with direct access to the President.
- Miller, Trump’s immigration adviser and speechwriter, said he tested positive Tuesday and was entering isolation. He is one of several people who had helped Trump prepare for last week’s presidential debate who have now tested positive, including former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
- The top US general, Gen. Mark Milley, and several members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff were also quarantining after a top Coast Guard official tested positive for coronavirus, several US defense officials told CNN.

U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams was cited in Hawaii for violating the state’s coronavirus restrictions after he entered a park in Oahu late August that was closed due to the virus, court records show.

Susan Collins on Trump's early release and mask removal
“When I saw him on the balcony of the White House, taking off his mask, I couldn’t help but think that he sent the wrong signal, given that he’s infected with COVID-19 and that there are many people in his immediate circle who have the virus,” she said. “I did not think that was a good example at all.”

Trump gets his hands slapped for tweeting COVID-19 misinformation
Flu season is coming up! Many people every year, sometimes over 100,000, and despite the Vaccine, die from the Flu. Are we going to close down our Country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with Covid, in most populations far less lethal!!!
