The two groups had been inside prior to the fight.

GLENDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — According to Glendale police, officers responded to a fight between two groups of people in one of the parking lots. Police say at some point, a 21-year-old man with one of the groups was struck by a car driven by someone in the other group. The victim got back up and started shooting at the driver and the other group. The vehicle drove off and left the area, police said.

As he began shooting, a 32-year-old man, who wasn’t involved in the fight between the two groups, was driving by, stopped, and got out of his vehicle. He then started shooting at the 21-year-old. At some point, while exchanging gunfire, both men were struck.

The 32-year-old man was taken to the hospital with injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening injuries. The 21-year-old man’s condition, who also was initially hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, has since worsened. According to a Glendale police spokeswoman, the man is now in critical condition, and his injuries are now life-threatening.
