The Washington Post has an excellent article that points out how Right Wing Media played a major role in radicalizing the far right extremists who stormed our nation’s Capitol and wreaked havoc on it.
“Fair and balanced” was the original Fox News lie, one of the rotten planks that built the foundation for Wednesday’s democratic disaster.
Over decades, with that false promise accepted as gospel by millions of devotees, Fox News radicalized a nation and spawned more extreme successors such as Newsmax and One America News.
***Notice: in almost every video clip, the ‘news’ hosts keeps invoking Antifa into the mix without any facts or evidence to back up their claims Only Lou Dobbs admits to no evidence of Antifa’s involvement.
Day after day, hour after hour, Fox gave its viewers something that looked like news or commentary but far too often lacked sufficient adherence to a necessary ingredient: truth.
Birtherism. The caravan invasion. Covid denialism. Rampant election fraud. All of these found a comfortable home at Fox.
The Post also holds social media responsible for radicalizing and encouraging ‘Vanilla ISIS,’ especially “the conspiracy-coddling hotbed of Parler.”
A quick peek at various websites that use Disqus as their commenting platform will show the same: Fake News and radicalized keyboard warriors who continuously promote conspiracy theories and even suggest overthrowing the Will of the People and our democracy.
On Friday, the FBI posted on their website 40 photos—some showing half-a-dozen or so protesters—the majority of whom were white men, often wearing red Trump MAGA hats or draped in the U.S. flag.
***If anyone recognizes any of these terrorists, please call the FBI at: 1-800-CALL-FBI. Help get them behind bars so they never engage in any further acts of Domestic Terrorism again.
On another scary note: Almost half of Republicans support the pro-Trump protesters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, putting them at odds with Democrats who largely oppose the actions of the demonstrators, a poll has found.
