Riley Williams, a Pennsylvania woman accused of stealing a laptop or hard drive from Nancy Pelosi’s office during the Capitol riots and plotting to sell it to the Russians, is apparently on the run.
In an update to a previous NewsViews story, the FBI says the woman has fled. According to her mother, Williams packed a bag and told her mother she would be gone for a couple of weeks.
An FBI affidavit says Williams deleted her accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, Telegram and Parler, and changed her phone number “sometime after January 6, 2021.”
She is now charged with crimes in the Capitol riots, accused of both entering the Capitol building “without lawful authority to do so” and engaging in disorderly conduct, according to the affidavit.
A British network television news crew spoke with the woman’s mother in a report on the incident. The mother indicated that her daughter had taken an interest in Trump’s politics and far-right message boards.
The FBI complaint identifies the witness who described Williams in videos as a former romantic partner who had seen video from friends of Williams taking a laptop or hard drive from Pelosi’s office. The complaint also accuses Williams of directing intruders in the Capitol to Pelosi’s office.
