The Friday 5:00 happy hour is provided for you as a means to relax and alleviate the stress of the week. While this is often suggested as a place to partake of a cocktail, beer, or glass of wine, and chat about the topics of your choice, I was prompted to recall another avenue to relaxation when a super-cute video was shared with me earlier this week.
I couldn’t stop laughing, I couldn’t stop smiling, I couldn’t stop re-playing it.
Eventually I fell into a deep state of zen listening to the music and imagining wafts of lavender and eucalyptus. Let’s face it, I was practically drooling, reliving another time pre-pandemic when I would make appointments for a little “me time” — alone with a massage therapist, a few candles, that music (ahhh), the essential oils, and a knowledgeable set of hands that would take me to a state of jello brain.
One silly kitten video and I’ve dug out my essential oils and been dabbling with dabbing, trying to re-live that ambiance. If you’ve never experimented with aromatherapy, they can truly help alleviate stress and anxiety, insomnia, nausea, and pain. Peppermint and eucalyptus have worked well for me to alleviate headaches, with just a drop rubbed in at the base of the neck. Lavender is a lovely relaxer. Citrus/orange is uplifting. It takes some sniffing and experimenting to find one that pleases you.
But if you don’t have any essential oils to help you chillax, wine works well, too!
Have a great Friday evening, and peace out, NewsViewers — it’s 5:00 somewhere.
