Anti-mask rally held at Idaho Statehouse ‘under review’ after face coverings set on fire

Rally attendees in Idaho encouraged children to burn face masks in protest of COVID-19 restrictions.

The video was posted to Twitter by Oregon Public Broadcasting reporter Sergio Olmos, who also interviewed one of the organizers behind the event, who said it was a rally and not a protest.

No one was arrested, and organizers had permits, but the rally was under review because a fire was started, Idaho State Police said in a statement.

Attendees tell police to go away.

According to data from CNN, Idaho has suffered worse from the pandemic compared to some of its neighboring states. 105 out of every 100,000 people have died in the state compared to 54 in Oregon and 66 in Washington state.
