After the attorney for Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio filed to have the judge recuse himself and reduce the sentence, Tarrio reported to jail to serve his 155-day sentence anyway.
Tarrio pleaded guilty in D.C. Superior Court to one count of destruction of property and one count of attempted possession of a large-capacity ammunition feeding device after the burning of a Black Lives Matter flag belonging to a historically Black church in D.C. in December.
Cuban-American Tarrio continues to deny that the Proud Boys, a violent hate group, is not racist by nature, while admitting that some members have white-supremacist beliefs.
