Josh Hawley has again mansplained his signature political issue, the lack of masculinity in America. Hawley says that the left is telling masculine men that their manhood is “inherently problematic.”
Hawley, 41, is frequently mentioned as a potential candidate in 2024 for president or vice president.
“As conservatives, we’ve got to call men back to responsibility,” Hawley said on Sunday in an interview with Axios. “We’ve got to say that spending your time not working … spending your time on video games, spending your time watching porn online … is not good for you, your family or this country.”
When asked about the indelibly masculine image of him raising a fist in support of the January 6 protesters at the Capitol, Hawley said he doesn’t regret the manly gesture.
“The Left want to define traditional masculinity as toxic. They want to define the traditional masculine virtues — things like courage and independence and assertiveness — as a danger to society,” Hawley said in a speech earlier this month at a conservative conference in Orlando.
