When Chris Christie was hospitalized with Covid last October, fighting for his life, Trump called him from Walter Reed where he was hospitalized to ask if Christie was going to publicly blame him for Christie’s illness.
A superspreader event at the White House in 2020 resulted in at least 48 staffers infected and Trump himself being hospitalized.
“Are you going to say you got it from me?” Trump asked him.
The quote comes from Christie’s new book, “Republican Rescue: Saving the Party from Truth Deniers, Conspiracy Theorists, and the Dangerous Policies of Joe Biden,” which is being released on Wednesday.
Christie also detailed how unwell he became after being hospitalized. He wrote that his priest arrived in the hospital and prayed over him, rubbing oils on his forehead and signing the cross.
Once a loyal ally of Trump, Christie has recently said that TFG needs to tell the truth about being a loser and move on from the 2020 election.
Trump’s statement on Christie’s comments were, “…everyone remembers that Chris left New Jersey with a less than 9% approval rating.”
“When I ran for reelection in 2013, I got 60% of the vote. When he ran for reelection, he lost to Joe Biden,” Christie responded.
