Red States to give jobless aid to the unvaccinated

Remember how the GOP claimed that bumps and extensions in unemployment insurance (UI) kept people plopped on their collective culos and decentified them from returning to work? Now the same GOP wants to give UI to workers in red states who either lost their jobs or quit them because of vaccine mandates.

According to Axios:

  • This is the GOP’s latest attempt in rallying behind their base ahead of the 2022 Mid-term election.
  • Nine GOP-controlled states have passed laws requiring exemptions for the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate, or banning private companies from requiring vaccination altogether, according to the National Academy for State Health Policy.
  • Several states have made it as easy as possible for workers to claim exemptions, allowing them to opt-out on philosophical grounds or requiring businesses to accept all requests for religious or medical exemptions without proof.

Who will be Trump' running mate?
