After circling The Beltway for several days, wasting gas, and pissing off commuters, the MAGAt Freedumb Convoy finally found its way to the downtown area of Washington D.C. One of the ‘esteemed’ speakers informed his group of fellow MAGAts about their new lofty goal: Take Back Black Lives Matter Plaza. Not only does he want to ‘take it back,’ he wants to ‘tar and feather’ all our delegates. 🙄
The crowd cheered their approval of the idea. The protester was referring to Black Lives Matter Plaza, a two-block section of 16th Street in Washington D.C., where “Black Lives Matter” was painted in large yellow letters on the street in the wake of protests following the May 2020 death of George Floyd at the hands of police. The plaza was officially renamed by Mayor Muriel Bowser in 2020.

DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) and Metro Police sent The Daily Beast a joint statement, in part reading: “As part of our layered mitigation strategy and enhanced preparedness posture, MPD has all the resources and necessary support they need to monitor and respond to any instances of illegal activity or harmful disruption.” Convoy organizers didn’t return a request for comment.
