Democrat Flips State Seat Defeating GOP Candidate Who Told Daughters to Enjoy Rape

Democrat Carol Glanville defeated Robert (RJ) Regan by 11 points in a special election to fill a vacant seat in the Michigan state House until the end of the year. The GOP predecessor had been elected to the state Senate.

Glanville defeated her GOP opponent in a solid red Michigan district that was carried by her predecessor by 26 points in the last election. Trump won the district in 2020 by 16 points.

The win reduced the Republican edge to 57-53 in the Michigan House.

NewsViews covered the comments made by Robert Regan in March when he said he told his daughters  “if rape is inevitable, you should just lie back and enjoy it.”

Regan lost the support of fellow wingnuts, and a late entry write-in candidate whose financial support came from a DeVos backed PAC had minimal success.

On the heels of his loss, Regan appeared on the Trucker Randy radio show, blaming the RINOs. Trucker Randy is running as a democrat and thinks families should be all white.
