Republican Rep. Susan DeLemus of New Hampshire has checked numerous kook boxes over the years:

Husband imprisoned for role in armed standoff with federal agents? Check-aroo.

On Thursday, DeLemus ticked another box thanks to a confrontation with pro-choice protestors outside the capitol building in Concord. The group had assembled in the wake of Monday’s leak of a U.S. Supreme Court draft opinion that’s poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark case establishing the constitutional right to abortion.

The problem with DeLemus’ latest display isn’t that she merely expressed anti-abortion views, but rather it was the utterly unhinged way she did so.

Susan DeLemus’ husband is Jerry DeLemus, who was sentenced to 87 months in prison in 2017 after he was convicted of organizing armed patrols as part of rancher Cliven Bundy’s armed standoff with U.S. agents in Nevada in 2014.

Susan DeLemus in January 2021 pushed for then-ougoing President Donald Trump to grant a pardon to her husband. Her husband was  not on the list of Trump’s final pardons.
