Ahead of tonight’s live broadcast of the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol, the GQP is in overdrive trying their hardest to downplay it, calling it a distraction from more important issues, and spinning it into what they want it to be. They hope the American people are as mentally challenged as their base and will view the hearing as One, Big, Partisan Nothingburger.
Please note: The Committee is not partisan; two Republicans, Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kisinger both play important roles on it. Qevin McQarthy had the opportunity to appoint more members from his caucus but he chose the Worst of the Worst and Speaker Pelosi refused to seat them because they voted against certifying the election.

TFG also regurgitated his debunked claim that he requested National Guard members to secure the Capitol, with Pentagon spokesman John Kirby saying that the Defense Department had “no record of such an order being given,” The Washington Post reported.
“The Unselect Committee has now learned that I, as President, suggested & offered up to 20,000 National Guard, or troops, be deployed in D.C. because it was felt that the crowd was going to be very large,” Trump said on Truth Social.
“Crazy Nancy Pelosi turned down the offer, she didn’t like the way it looked. Likewise, the Mayor of D.C. Had they taken up the offer, there would have been no January 6th.”
