Last Call: August 12, 2023

Good evening, News Viewers, and welcome to the weekend. I thought we could have a bit of fun tonight…post some music, videos, oddities, whatever you want.

I thought this was kind of funny and Karmatic:

1966 Longview, Texas radio station KLUE holds a “Beatles Bonfire” to burn Beatles records and memorabilia; station is struck by lightning the following day.

I guess the Fundie Freaks had a problem with this bugaboo: 1966 – John Lennon apologized at a news conference in Chicago, IL, for his remark that “the Beatles are more popular than Jesus.”

Our lovely PMS posted this for me earlier today to watch. I’ve scaled back so much in the tomato growing department but I sure miss the days of having so many that I could cook down a bunch of tomatoes, jar, and then freeze them. I have this thing about canning–it really scares me. I opt for freezing stuff instead.

I can relate to the narrator/chef’s comments about going over to Nonna’s house to help with the project. My sons would run and hide on tomato cooking day. Perhaps next year, I will go full blown crazy and plant more tomatoes. I know the daughter in law I like and my other son’s new/old girlfriend (don’t ask) would help out and enjoy doing so—a bit of cooking, a few glasses of wine—yep, that could be fun.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and stay safe!
