Friday Free Chat, Week 44

Happy Friday, News Viewers, and welcome to our Friday free chat — the open forum where almost anything goes and everything stays, unless things get personal , that’s mostly what gets any of us in the time out corner. . . . .

I’m looking at our cartoons and thinking how much is NOT there — the weeks are packed with wild chaos and tensions by the minute, and yet the big picture is consistent, goal directed, predictable. Dear Hamlet said it best, so I’ll repeat it here, “the time is out of joint, O cursed spite, that ever I was born to set it right.”. . . . .

Poor old anguished Hamlet, or Ham and Egglet as my boys used to call the Prince of Pomposity–even he with that way he had with a soliloquy could fix the world’s problems on this day—he was a whiner, but he had the perspective of history— he knew our inability to learn the lesson of history was one of life’s sad foreshadowing of destruction.

Ham and egglet notwithstanding, we still have the minute by minute short view– this would be less Hamlet and more Buddha or Eckhart Tolle or my one year old neighbor. The short view allows us to see what’s happening in a world falling apart without noticing it’s falling apart. The short view can be us today seeing no further than our headlights in the dark and thus not worrying about the chaos in our world because, like my toddler neighbor wisely knows, If I can’t see it, it’s not there. Nuff said.

So chat and chat away, looking into the future for solutions or into the next moment in time to recognize that there really is no future until it happens and how we live in the present determines what the quality of that future will be….. (so cheer up, peeps…….there may be hope for saving the world by writing a new future that does not yet exist) Got that? Long live Fridays and the Run On Sentence. . .. whatcha got?
