With so much going on in our world, we sometimes miss important issues. Please feel free to share any headlines or new developments we may have missed providing they come from reliable and credible sources. In other words, please do not post any missed headlines form far right ‘news’ sources or regurgitate their Russian propaganda unless you’re trying to point out that the far-right extremist in our country and elsewhere actually believe their own BS or Russian disinformation. The same applies to what is currently happening in Israel. We also ask that you provide a link to your source so folks can read it if they want. Please do not make any claims that you cannot factually validate or verify.
In terms of the proportion of lives lost to the virus, the data show many more people in Florida died from COVID-19 compared to Californians.
According to a Times analysis of Johns Hopkins University data through early March, California had the lowest cumulative COVID death rate among the four most populous states:
- California: 2,560 COVID deaths for every 1 million residents
- Florida: 4,044 COVID deaths for every 1 million residents
“In other words, Florida’s raw death tally — 86,850 in early March — came close to California’s total, 101,159, despite California having roughly 18 million more residents,” Rong-Gong, Luke and Sean noted.

At long last, California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will get a showdown on a public stage.
Fox News announced on Monday that Sean Hannity will moderate a 90-minute debate between the two bitter rivals on Nov. 30. The debate will take place in Georgia and air on Hannity’s show.
“We’ve agreed to the debate — provided there is no cheering section, no hype videos or any other crutches DeSantis requested,” said Nathan Click, a spokesperson for Newsom. “We want a real debate — not a circus.”

How to Trigger an Ignorant, Malignant, Illiterate, Racist, and ‘Fullish’ MAGAt: “Pay Attention to MEEEEEE!”
The progressive activist group MoveOn flew a 15 foot-tall likeness of George Santos outside the US Capitol building today while calling for his expulsion. MoveOn describes itself as a “bulwark against the radical right, channeling our collective voices to drive progressive foreign policy, protect democracy, and advance justice for all.”
With a vote expected later this week on Santos’s expulsion from Congress after a scathing House Ethics report was made public, the group is making their point in a humorous way that it is way past time for Santos to go.
Speaker Mike Johnson said that he met with Santos this past weekend to attempt to persuade him to resign quietly, but Santos rejected that and said that he wants to put every Republican on the record who votes to expel him. With a number of Republicans already announcing they will switch their previous votes and oust him things aren’t looking good for Santos.
