‘They were shot in cold blood inside the premises of the Parish, where there are no belligerents,’ church officials said
The two women were Palestinian Christians, who were sheltering inside the Holy Family Parish – where much of Gaza’s Christian community has reportedly sheltered during the duration of the Israel-Hamas War.
“One was killed as she tried to carry the other to safety. Seven more people were shot and wounded as they tried to protect others inside the church compound. No warning was given, no notification was provided. They were shot in cold blood inside the premises of the Parish, where there are no belligerents.”
In addition to the individuals who were reportedly shot, the Latin Patriarchate further alleged that an IDF rocket hit the Convent of the Sisters of Mother Theresa, which is also located within the church compound. The rocket decimated the convent’s generator and fuel, according to the statement. More than 54 disabled people live in the convent and “are currently displaced without access to respirators that some of them need to survive,” the statement continued.
