A day after the Department of Justice served a subpoena to the House of Representatives, Punchbowl News is reporting that Cori Bush (D- Missouri) is under criminal investigation over misuse of federal security funds.
The DOJ has subpoenaed the House Sergeant at Arms for records about the funds being spent for private security.
In March 2021, a ruling from the Federal Elections Commission said that campaign funds could be used for such services.
But CBS News showed that Bush spent more than any other lawmaker, according to an FEC report. She also raised ethical concerns by hiring her then-boyfriend and now-husband to provide those services.
