Just like they blocked a bill to protect IVF, Senate Republicans blocked The Reproductive Freedom for Women Act, which would have codified Roe v. Wade into federal law. The entire bill was less than two pages and focused solely on codifying Roe back into federal law.
Congressional Democrats have vowed to bring this legislation back to the floor in the event they are able to expand their Senate majority and flip the House. President Biden has also vowed to sign a bill that would codify Roe into federal law.
