Trump-Elon Musk interview violated campaign finance regulations, Democratic PAC claims
A Democratic political action committee has filed a complaint against former President Donald Trump and the social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, alleging that an Aug. 12 interview between Trump and X owner Elon Musk violated Federal Election Commission regulations.
“The Donald Trump-Elon Musk campaign rally hosted on X wasn’t just an incoherent diatribe of lies marred by technical difficulties it was a blatantly illegal corporate contribution to Donald Trump’s campaign,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “This brazen corporate contribution undermines campaign finance laws and would set a dangerous precedent for unfettered, direct corporate engagement in campaigns. The FEC must investigate this corporate-funded campaign event and hold Trump, his campaign, and X Corp. accountable.”

Trump Blames Tech Issues For His ‘Strange’ Voice In X Interview As He Thanks Elon Musk For ‘Strong Endorsement’
Former President Donald Trump late on Tuesday blamed technical issues for distorting his voice during his discussion with Elon Musk on X Spaces, in response to Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign’s mockery of his supposed “slurring.”

Judge removes election-denying lawyer from Dominion defamation case for ‘egregious misconduct’
A judge barred an indicted, election-denying lawyer from being involved in one of Dominion Voting Systems’ 2020 election defamation cases after she publicly leaked the company’s internal emails.
The lawyer, Stefanie Lambert, had represented former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne in the lawsuit, which Dominion filed because he has repeatedly accused the voting technology company, falsely, of rigging the 2020 election against former President Donald Trump.
Federal Judge Moxila Upadhyaya said Tuesday in a searing 62-page ruling that she was removing Lambert from the case because of her “truly egregious misconduct,” concluding that she “flagrantly and repeatedly disregarded court orders” by publicly disclosing “thousands, if not millions” of internal Dominion documents without any legal justification.
“Lambert’s actions were intentional and clearly meant to inflict the harm that has resulted,” Upadhyaya wrote, adding that “this Court cannot allow such intentional, dangerous, and relentless misconduct to continue.”

Michigan SOS Jocelyn Benson home targeted in swatting attack: ‘I will not be intimidated’
Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said Monday her home was the target of a pair of swatting attacks within the span of 48 hours, meant to threaten her as the state’s top elections official.
Swatting entails a hoax call to law enforcement to prompt an armed response. The incidents can put victims in harm’s way when law enforcement arrive at their home with the understanding that officers are responding to a horrific crime, rather than a prank.
