Former congressman and candidate for Trump’s attorney general Matt Gaetz is joining the little-watched pro-Trump extreme network OAN to host his own show.
Promotional artwork was available on the One America News Network on Tuesday morning.
The move does seem like a step up from his previous intermediary career as a Cameo provider.
OAN has made a name for itself as the most extreme, pro-Trump news outlets, and was dropped by DirectTV in 2022 over its coverage of baseless conspiracy theories.
The network also worked closely with Russian operatives in 2019, producing a propaganda style documentary over Trump’s first impeachment for pressuring Ukraine to agree to releasing campaign dirt on Joe Biden.
Most of OAN’s personality’s are not well-known, so getting Gaetz on board is seen as a bigly acquisition.
Matt Gaetz, first elected to Congress by Florida voters in 2016, stepped down from his position two days before a Congressional Ethics Committee was set to release its report on allegations of sex with a minor and drug use.
Ousted House Speaker Kevin McCarthy explained that Gaetz went after him because of the ethics report.
