Protests titled “Not My Presidents’ Day” are being organized as a response to “the anti-democratic and illegal actions of the Trump administration,” focusing on an anti-Project 2025 agenda.

The demonstrations are being organized by the 50501 Movement, which stands for “50 protests. 50 states. 1 movement,” marking the second nationwide protest by the group, following a February 5 event.
More than 75 protests have been scheduled for Monday so far, with a number of events planned at state Capitols.

A representative for the 50501 Movement, which grew out of a discussion on the social media platform Reddit, told Newsweek that the group is pushing Not My Presidents’ Day “as more of a ‘day of action,’ which would include email and phone banking, participating in volunteer activities that directly help those affected by Trump’s policies, donating to charities, etc. There will still primarily be protests, though.”
"The current administration has clarified that it cares more about profit than people. We as a collective refuse to stand by as they continue to undermine the dignity of our communities," the group said in a statement. "We are not just numbers or consumers. We are the People. We reject fascism. We reject the oligarchy. We reject the idea that any person's worth is less than another's."
The protests are being coordinated with Political Revolution, a group founded by Sen. Bernie Sanders supporters.
Smart Girls, an organization founded by comedian and actress Amy Poehler and producer Meredith Walker, has also promoted the upcoming protests.
