RFK Jr. Says He Supports a National 15-Week Abortion Ban; Walks Comments Back-He ‘Misunderstood’ Reporter

At the Iowa State Fair, Robert Kennedy Jr. told an NBC News reporter that if he miraculously became the next president, he would support a national ban on abortion after the first three months of pregnancy. Hours later, the Democratic presidential hopeful and known anti-vaxxer walked back his comments by claiming he “misunderstood” the reporter’s questions.

“Mr. Kennedy misunderstood a question posed to him by an NBC reporter in a crowded, noisy exhibit hall at the Iowa State Fair,” a spokesperson said, clarifying the candidate’s stance on abortion as “always” being the woman’s right to choose. Kennedy “does not support legislation banning abortion,” the spokesman added.
But Sunday morning, Kennedy was much more specific, telling NBC: “I believe a decision to abort a child should be up to the women during the first three months of life.” Pressed on whether that meant signing a federal ban at 15 or 21 weeks, he said yes.
“Once a child is viable, outside the womb, I think then the state has an interest in protecting the child,” he continued, adding “I’m for medical freedom. Individuals are able to make their own choices.”

Other Serious Flaws:

• RFK Jr. stated he would not have voted to support the Inflation Reduction Act. He claims IRA has not helped fight climate change. In fact, he claims IRA has done quite the opposite but did not provide any examples or details.
• Spreads repeated disinformation about the efficacy of vaccinations and deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic like a typical MAGAt versus a member of the Democratic Party.
• Made numerous anti-Semitic remarks.
• Unlike a typical MAGAt, RFK Jr. does believe TFG lost the 2020 elect but added, ““elections can get stolen in this country.” Shockingly, RFK Jr. does believe TFG tried to overturn the elections results after he lost but stated that indictments themselves are not disqualifying: “Convictions might, but indictments don’t. I think we’re living in a weird period of history right now.”

Thankfully, his bid for the White House will go nowhere; steeply trails President Biden in the polls.
