Nadler Will Miss a Day of Impeachment Trial Due to Wife’s Pancreatic Cancer

House Democrat Jerry Nadler (NY) announced on Sunday that he will miss Monday’s impeachment trial proceedings in order to be with his wife, who has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Nadler’s wife, Joyce Miller, was diagnosed in December. On December 17, Nadler missed preparation for the impeachment proceedings for what he called a family emergency.

“She has undergone surgery and is taking further steps to address the spread of the cancer,” Nadler said on Sunday.

The Nadlers were married in 1976. Joyce Miller has served New York City and New York State on several government boards, and has taught at Columbia University.
