The mayor of Monroe, Ohio, has asked the pastors of Solid Rock Church to stop holding packed services and encourage their parishioners to stay home to help fight the growing coronavirus outbreak. Solid Rock Church in Monroe has continued its in-person worship services, exceeding Gov. Mike DeWine’s limit of 10 people or less at gatherings to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Butler County Health Commissioner Jennifer Bailer said she spoke with the church’s attorney and the attorney assured her that they are undergoing all efforts possible at the church to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, including practicing social distancing by staying 6 feet apart, setting up hand sanitizer stations at the church and thoroughly cleaning the church following each meeting.
