Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden hosted Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in his podcast on Monday. Whitmer’s appearance is fueling speculation that she is on a short list for a potential running mate.
“You’re not the only governor with whom I’ve spoken,” Biden said. “You just happen to be doing it as well as anybody who’s doing it.”
Biden has said that he has a list of 6-10 names, and told MSNBC anchor Brian Williams that he started looking at Whitmer two months ago.
Biden and Whitmer discussed the rapid escalation of the coronavirus pandemic, and Biden asked how she was dealing with Trump as he has been openly critical of Whitmer.
“I don’t take any of this personally. If somebody doesn’t like how I’m doing my job, it is what it is,” she said.
