Florida’s Rep. Ted Yoho had some remorse for his vulgarities toward Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a speech he made this morning on the floor of the House.
Yesterday Yoho was overheard calling the New York representative a “f***ing bitch” on the steps to the Capitol. He later denied he said those words, claiming he’d told her she was “bullshit” over linking the rise in crime in New York City to economic insecurity.
“The offensive name-calling words attributed to me by the press were never spoken to my colleagues,” Yoho claimed on Wednesday. “And if they were construed that way, I apologize for their misunderstanding,” he added.
While offering some contrition, Yoho said he would not apologize for his “passion, loving my God, my family or my country.”
