WORLDOMETER  stats for yesterday:

  • +162,346 new cases
  • 7 day average of 158,363 cases/day
  • 11.538 million total cases
  • +740 new deaths
  • 7 day average of 1,170 deaths/day
  • 252,652 total deaths

Note:  Sunday and Monday reported numbers are usually 30% to 50% below normal as data reporting backlogs on those days

JOHNS HOPKINS  stats for yesterday:

The 7 day average for America’s positive test rate is now 10.0% and leveling off.  It took about 35 days for that number to grow from 4.0% to 7.4%, but only 10 days to then swell from 7.4% to 10.0%.  8 states, plus DC, have a positive rate of 5% or less, while 28 states have a positive rate of 10% or greater.  The worst of them are:

  1. Wyoming  62.9%
  2. South Dakota  57.5%
  3. Iowa  51.7%
  4. Kansas  43.8%
  5. Idaho  42.0%

CDC stats for yesterday:

13.7% of all Emergency Room visits are for syndromes related to Covid-19.  6.1% shortness of breath, 4.6% Covid-like symptoms or positive COVID code, 2.0% pneumonia, 1.0% general flu-like symptoms (not the flu)

  • women make up 52% of cases, but men make up 54% of deaths
  • 95% of deaths are those aged 50 and up
  • 64.9% of cases are those aged 49 and below
