Peter Navarro Calls COVID-19 the “Fauci Virus”

Former White House trade advisor Peter Navarro accused Dr. Fauci of being the “father” of COVID-19 and made claims the virus was engineered in a Wuhan lab.

Navarro was being interviewed by Rachel Campos-Duffy on Fox News when he was shown a clip of Fauci saying that his decision to “go all out” on a vaccine was “the best decision that I’ve ever made with regard to an intervention as director of the institute.”

“Fauci is a sociopath and a liar. He had nothing to do with the vaccine. The father of the vaccine is Donald J. Trump,” Navarro said.

Navarro cited the conspiracy theory by former CDC director Robert Redfield who claimed that the virus escaped a lab in Wuhan.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki has repeatedly denied Trump any credit for vaccine development and distribution, calling it a “Herculean incredible effort by science and by medical experts.”

Newsweek and BusinessInsider carried this story.

In January 2020, Navarro had issued stark warnings to the Trump administration of an impending crisis that would upend life and leave millions of Americans vulnerable to a pandemic.
