The FBI’s San Francisco office announced Thursday that they have arrested two Bay Area Magats, Ian Rogers and Jarrod Copeland, in connection with conspiracy to attack the Democratic headquarters building in Sacramento, CA.
FBI officials said Copeland was arrested in Sacramento on Wednesday. Rogers was arrested in January and charged in federal court with stockpiling illegal weapons.
Acting U.S. Attorney Stephanie Hinds said, “Firebombing your perceived political opponents is illegal and does not nurture the sort of open and vigorous debate that created and supports our constitutional democracy. The allegations in the indictment describe despicable conduct. Investigation and prosecution of those who choose violence over discussion is as important as anything else we do to protect our free society,”
