Note to Ammosexuals, MAGAts, and Other RW Extremists : Red Flag Laws Work When Enforced

On numerous Gun Nut/MAGAt shitholes, cretins people have asked why Colorado’s Red Flag law didn’t stop the lunatic from killing five people at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs. A simple Google search, if they weren’t so intellectually lazy, and turning OFF Fox Noise would educate them on how things work.

When Colorado passed their Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO )-AKA: ‘Red Flag’ law in 2019, “it allowed local authorities to request permission to temporarily confiscate firearms from people they believe may be a danger to themselves or others.” But, some counties opted out because…gun nuttery, Second Amendment rights, and of course….FREEDUMB!

The shooting at Club Q occurred in a county where local law enforcement refused to enforce the state’s law. In fact, “the county declared itself a ‘Second Amendment preservation county‘ in 2019, along with more than half of Colorado’s counties, according to a list compiled by KUSA.

After the bill passed, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement:

Veronica Pear, a researcher in the Violence Prevention Research Program at the University of California, Davis, who studied red flag laws in California, previously told Insider that, anecdotally, the measure has been effective in disarming people who have made threats of mass shootings.

But one issue with the effectiveness of “red flag” laws comes from law enforcement’s unwillingness to utilize the law.

An analysis by The AP revealed that Colorado had one of the lowest rates of “red flag” law usage compared to the 19 states and the District of Columbia which have their own versions of gun restraining orders.

And in one more of many instances that prove RW extremists/MAGAts are the most vile people alive, they have now started their vicious attacks on the Club Q hero, veteran (We Love Our Vets!) Richard Fierro.

The far-right has called him a “groomer” and a “f*ggot,” while questioning his sexuality for being at the Club Q drag show. Others even questioned the veracity of his entire story, according to an investigation conducted by VICE News and researchers at Advance Democracy Inc, a nonprofit that tracks online extremism.

The attacks on Fierro are just one part of a concerted and consistent response from right wing influencers and conservative media outlets to diminish and question the horrific killing of five people inside LGBTQ nightclub Club Q on Saturday night. Figures like Posobiec, Fox News host Tucker Carlson, and anti-trans troll Matt Walsh have been doubling down on attacks against the LGBTQ community for years,  increasing these attacks in regularity and toxicity in recent months, with accusations that members of the LGBTQ community are sexualizing or “grooming” children. Trans activists have warned that violent responses would be imminent, to little avail
