Ahead of today’s potential “bombshell” testimony from Hunter Biden’s business partner Devon Archer, the GQP is pushing the conspiracy theory that the DOJ is obstructing their investigation to implicate Joe Biden in crimes — by sending their key witness to jail (oh my) before his Monday testimony. Archer served on the board of Burisma along with Hunter Biden.
The theory is based on a letter from the U.S. Attorney’s Office at the Southern District of New York to trial Judge Ronnie Abrams requesting the judge schedule a date for Archer to report to prison.
Archer was sentenced to one year plus one day in prison in February 2022 following a conviction in 2018. Archer was convicted as part of a scheme to defraud a Native American tribe of $60 million. Archer has appealed his case and sentence several times.
Even Archer’s lawyers refute the GQP conspiracy theory.
Republicans claim Archer is the “smoking gun” witness who is expected to testify on Monday during a closed House meeting that Hunter put his father on speakerphone during business calls multiple times.
