Trump and his MAGA allies have a new conspiracy theory to instill fear and exploit a tragedy continuing to unfold in Israel.
Trump wants us to think that Hamas has infiltrated the U.S. through the Mexican border, thanks to that one *Hussein guy he thinks is currently President.
“The same people that raided Israel are pouring into our once beautiful USA, through our TOTALLY OPEN SOUTHERN BORDER, at Record Numbers,” Trump claimed without evidence on his Truth Social platform Monday morning. “Are they planning an attack within our Country? Crooked Joe Biden and his BOSS, Barack Hussein Obama, did this to us!”
Several conservatives, including anti-Muslim mouthpiece Laura Loomer, Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs, Pizzagate promoter Jack Posobiec, and Marjorie Taylor Greene, jumped on the anti-immigrant caravan over the weekend.
Hamas has been estimated to include at least 10,000 fighters, with the capability of mobilizing four to five times more during intense fighting, but a long-standing air, sea, and land blockade prevents them from leaving the Gaza Strip.
To suggest that a significant number have escaped the region, crossed half the globe and then secretly traversed the hazardous Mexico border into the U.S. seems like a MAGA-sized whopper conspiracy theory, but is certain to keep MAGAts fearful of immigrants and a possible return to 9/11-inspired Islamaphobia.
