What they’re saying: “You say they’ve weaponized the Justice Department, they weaponized the FBI. Would you do the same if you’re re-elected?” Univision journalist Enrique Acevedo asked the Republican primary front-runner during their interview on the Spanish-language TV network.
- “If they do this and they’ve already done it, but if they want to follow through on this, yeah, it could certainly happen in reverse,” Trump said.
- “What they’ve done is they’ve released the genie out of the box.”

Judge in classified documents case rejects Trump’s request to delay May trial date
The federal judge had announced in July that the trial would begin on May 20 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
A federal judge on Friday declined former President Donald Trump’s request to postpone the May start date of the trial in the special counsel’s classified documents case.
Judge Aileen Cannon in a new court filing Friday did leave open the possibility of pushing back the trial date at a later date, saying she will consider the issue when the parties meet for a March 1 scheduling conference.
The decision comes after Cannon heard arguments last week on Trump’s request to delay the trial.
