MAGAt Mike Johnson Refuses to Commit to Immigration Reform; Admits to Consulting with Drumpf

Speaker MAGAt Mike Johnson met with President Joe Biden and other congressional leaders about an immigration agreement that could unlock stalled aid for Ukraine.

"We must have change at the border," Johnson said. He added that House Republicans "understand the necessity about Ukraine funding" but that the "status quo is unacceptable."

MAGAt Mike also stated that he will not put anything the Senate has proposed on the House floor unless it mirrors the partisan House-passed border bill known as HR 2.

HR 2:

  • This bill makes various changes to immigration law, including by imposing limits on asylum eligibility and requiring employers to use an electronic system to verify the employment eligibility of new employees.
  • his section requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to resume all activities related to constructing a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border that were underway or planned prior to January 20, 2021.

Despite the White House and Democrats rejecting H2, Johnson insisted Wednesday night that it be the basis of any immigration deal. “I think we had productive discussion today at the White House because I told them, it doesn’t matter to me what you label it, I don’t care what you call it, HR 2, but those elements are really important,” he said.

Even though the GQP has made immigration their number one issue, they really haven’t (it requires hard work and not just sound bites on RW Fascist media) except to blame President Biden and setting “a date for marking up articles of impeachment on Secretary Mayorkas.”

After meeting with President Biden, MAGAt Mike made an appearance on Nazi Laura Ingraham’s show and admitted he’s taking his marching orders from Stinky Adolf Benito Drumpf on sabotaging a border deal.

Ingraham: The president actually just got off the phone with me right before the show and he said he has spoken to you about this deal and that he is against it and he urged you to be against this deal. He was extremely – President Trump – was extremely adamant about that. Your reaction to that, given the fact that, look, he already he knows how to do this enforcement stuff. You don’t need some new bill coming out of the the Senate to get the border enforced.

Johnson:  Yeah, President Trump is not wrong. He and I have been talking about this pretty frequently. I talked to him night before last about the same subject. We don’t have the text of whatever the Senate has cooked up yet. And so we have to reserve judgment, I think, to see what comes out of it. It doesn’t sound good.

4 Dems vote with GOP as House condemns Biden handling of southern border

More than a dozen House Democrats joined with the chamber’s Republicans in backing a resolution slamming the Biden administration for its handling of the southern border in a floor vote Wednesday.

The non-binding resolution, which passed 225-187, “denounces the Biden administration’s open-borders policies” and “condemns the national security and public safety crisis” it says results from them. It was sponsored by Rep. Nathaniel Moran (R-Texas).
