As expected, SCOTUS intervened and ruled that accounting firm Mazar does not have to release Trump’s tax returns to the House by this Wednesday.
This is only a temporary stay and the Democratic-controlled House Committee on Oversight and Reform has until Thursday to respond.
Chief Justice Robert signed the stay.
The House will not “oppose a temporary delay in enforcing the subpoena to allow the court time to consider arguments from both sides. The committee said in the letter that it would provide its response on Friday.”
