Col. Allen West has the ‘rona;’ taking unproven, MAGAt drugs to cure it

Former GOP congressman, chairman of the Texas Republican Party, and now Tejas gubernatorial candidate Col. Allen West announced on his Twitter account Saturday that he has COVID-19. The unvaccinated West allegedly caught the highly contagious virus from his vaccinated wife Angela West.

Col. West said he has “a low grade fever and light body aches.” He has canceled in-person events out of concern for public safety “until receiving an all-clear indication.” At least he understands the CDC’s guidelines and importance of isolating versus going out in public but wearing a mask like some ‘fullish’ MAGAt has suggested and finds acceptable to do.

But, like other ‘fullish’ MAGAts, West is taking the unproven ‘cures’ Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine to ‘cure’ him of the highly contagious and sometimes fatal virus. Thus far, there is no known cure for COVID-19.

‘Thoughts and Prayers!”

West has spoken previously about his opposition to both mask wearing and the vaccines. In August, he spoke on WBAP about vaccine requirements in the military:

“If you’re trying to order people to take a shot that you don’t feel comfortable with, that’s not an ethical order. That’s not a moral order,” he said.

Health officials and scientists back the COVID-19 vaccine as the best way to avoid serious illness from the virus. Although vaccinated people sometimes contract the virus, the vaccine prevents serious illness, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Of the 707,065 COVID-19 deaths in the United States, only 6,617 have been among vaccinated people, according to the CDC
