Ohio voters dealt a blow to Republicans on Tuesday by defeating an effort to make it more difficult to amend the state constitution, in what is seen as a win for abortion-rights supporters.
American nurse and daughter released after Haiti kidnap
An American nurse and her daughter abducted two weeks ago in Haiti have been released, according to a Wednesday statement from the organization Alix Dorsainvil works for.
“It is with a heart of gratitude and immense joy that we at El Roi Haiti confirm the safe release of our staff member and friend, Alix Dorsainvil and her child who were held hostage in Port au Prince, Haiti. Today we are praising God for answered prayer,” the statement from El Roi, a faith-focused humanitarian organization, said.
Congress:
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., fell at home Tuesday and visited the hospital to get checked out, her office said.
“Senator Feinstein briefly went to the hospital yesterday afternoon as a precaution after a minor fall in her home. All of her scans were clear and she returned home,” a Feinstein spokesperson told NBC News in an email Wednesday.
She was at the hospital for about two hours, the spokesperson said.

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday vowed that he “will talk” about the criminal charges he faces over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election and accused federal prosecutors of “taking away my First Amendment rights.”
